Heavy metal band Metallica has launched the world's first-ever guitar-shaped ice cream bar in collaboration with low-sugar dessert company Enlightened. The bar is made with vanilla ice cream and a dark chocolate coating, and is shaped like the ESP Truckster guitar, one of James Hetfield's signature models.
A portion of the proceeds from each bar sold will benefit Metallica's All Within My Hands foundation, which supports local food banks and other organizations that fight hunger.
"We're excited to partner with Enlightened to create this unique and delicious ice cream bar that will help us raise money for our foundation," said Metallica drummer Lars Ulrich. "We hope fans will enjoy this treat and join us in our fight against hunger."
The ice cream bars are available now at select retailers nationwide. You can find a list of retailers at the Enlightened website.
In addition to the ice cream bars, Metallica and Enlightened have also launched a sweepstakes where fans can win an ESP guitar signed by the band. To enter, visit the sweepstakes website.
The guitar-shaped ice cream bar is just the latest way that Metallica is giving back to their fans and to the community. The band has a long history of philanthropy, and their All Within My Hands foundation has donated millions of dollars to food banks, homeless shelters, and other organizations.
This new ice cream bar is a fun and delicious way for fans to support Metallica's charitable efforts. So if you're a fan of the band and you love ice cream, be sure to pick up a bar today. You'll be helping to make a difference in the world.
